Celebrate and Hydrate Without the Waste

Summer is here and with it comes HEAT! With heat comes potential dehydration of the body. At the record temperatures we are seeing across the country, it is especially important to keep hydrated.

As we know, many people engage in outdoor activities specifically for the 4th of July weekend such as camping, boating and enjoying the fireworks. One aspect often overlooked when having fun: hydration.

Hydration is important because the body is comprised mostly of water, and the proper balance between water and electrolytes in our bodies really determines how most of our systems function, including nerves and muscles,” says Larry Kenney, PhD, a professor of physiology and kinesiology at Penn State.

Without proper hydration, the body begins to shut down exposing the body to potential permanent negative effects to the nervous system.

Yet, the solution is so simple: drink water!

Easy enough I’d say, but as water may seem so readily available to us, we also need to consider other risks. The health risk of ingesting harmful BPA from plastic water bottles, or the risk of pollution our precious environment.

Again, the solution is simple: reusable containers!

Especially when traveling, camping, hiking or whatever it may be this 4th of July weekend, reusable containers are the answer. You can refill them as often as you need without the hassle. ¬†You don’t have the hassle of packing cases of bottled water in the car or the worry about where to safety dispose of the trash afterwards.

Make the easy choice, make the smart choice, make it reusable this year!
