Earth Day Celebration Around The Nation

Published On April 22, 2013 | By Hannah Ellsbury | Articles, Holiday

It’s here! The day our nation celebrates what we are so lucky to have! A day where the citizens of the nation are reminded of the ongoing environmental issues we inflict on our planet. A day where environmentalists and advocates are able to speak out and push for positive change within our communities!

Climate change can seem like a remote problem, but the fact is that it’s already impacting real people, animals, and beloved places and is multiplying every day. Fortunately, advocacy and action is multiplying too: individuals, groups, businesses and schools are stepping up to do something about it.

Starbucks Free Coffee: Bring your reusable mug and get a free brewed coffee or tea.

Disney Store Plastic Bags: Bring in 5 plastic shopping bags and get a free Brave or Cars 2 reusable shopping bag.

Office Depot Supplies: Take your unwanted pens, markers and mechanical pencils and they will then use them to make office supplies like organizers and trash cans.

Old Navy Flip Flops: Gather your unwanted flip-flops and drop them off at your local Old Navy location. They will turn them into turf for children’s playgrounds all across the country! This initiative will run until May 21st.

Target Shopping Bag: Free Reusable Shopping Bag, over 1.5 Million will be given away nationwide!

National Park Week: Get free admission into over 400 National Parks nationwide from April 20-28.

What are you doing this Earth Day?
