Reduce the Abuse, Recycle and Reuse

The bottled water industry is attempting to keep us in the dark about the economic and environmental dangers of plastic bottle production. Yet, there are many non-profit organizations (i.e. Ban the Bottle) that continue to inform and further their efforts in creating and maintaining a sustainable environment. In doing so, more and more people are becoming aware of the harm of plastic bottle production not only to our environment, but directly to our personal health.

Purchasing a plastic water bottle may seem more convenient and “cleaner” than filling up a reusable bottle, ironically that is just what the bottled water industry wants us to think. Consider the costs associated with this supposed “convenient” product.

This chart briefly describes the costs included in the making of plastic water bottles. Next time you think about driving to the closest convenient store to purchase a water bottle, think again…
