Healthy Oceans, Healthy Planet

Healthy oceans, healthy planet is this year’s theme for World Oceans Day. This year’s theme was made in an effort to stop plastic pollution. World Oceans Day is recognized by the United Nations as a day of celebration and action.

How can you get your community involved? World Oceans Day suggests:

Create a community art piece

Gather neighbors, friends, family and a group of cheerful individuals and create a piece of art! Create a mural that represents your community’s promise to stop plastic pollution.

Clean up your favorite spot

Have some fun under the sun by the water. Make this an outing event at the beach or river with friends, family and neighbors. Grab some trash bags and make a difference.

Show a fantastic film

“The Story of Bottled Water” is a great mini-film that will help motivate everyone in your community to get involved in this year’s theme.
