Could water bottles soon be a thing of the past in Massachusetts? Maybe, if one state senator gets her way.

The Newton Democrat filed an amendment to the state budget that would ban the sale of water bottles in Massachusetts within a year. It is slated for debate Wednesday.

Creem reportedly says one-third of bottles sold in Massachusetts each year are exempt from the bottle bill because of the definitions that do not include bottled water.

With the city of Concord, Massachusetts, already banning bottled water, and State Senator Cythina Creem’s filed amendment, there is no doubt the populace is trending towards banning the sale of bottled water.
